Negative Sentences (எதிர்மறை வாக்கியங்கள்)
Day 1 – Day 3 Quick Recall
- Day 1: Present Continuous → இப்போது நடக்கும் செயல்
- Day 2: Helping Verbs → am / is / are
- Day 3: Positive Sentences → is / am / are + verb + ing
👉 Day 4-ல் நாம் “நடக்கவில்லை” என்று சொல்லக் கற்றுக்கொள்வோம்.
Negative Sentence என்றால் என்ன?
ஒரு செயல் இப்போது நடைபெறவில்லை என்று கூறும் வாக்கியம் Negative Sentence.
👉 “இல்லை / நடக்கவில்லை” என்ற அர்த்தம் வந்தால் அது Negative Sentence.
✍️ GOLDEN STRUCTURE (Never Forget)
Subject + am / is / are + NOT + Verb + ing
👉 NOT எப்போதும் helping verbக்கு பிறகே வரும்.
Subject-wise Negative Sentences
✔ Subject: I
- I am not working now.
- I am not watching TV.
✔ Subject: He / She / It
- He is not studying.
- She is not cooking food.
- It is not raining.
✔ Subject: You / We / They
- You are not listening.
- We are not wasting time.
- They are not playing now.
Short Forms (Spoken English)
- am not → am not (no short form)
- is not → isn’t
- are not → aren’t
Example:
- She isn’t sleeping.
- They aren’t working.
Common Competition Mistakes
- ❌ I not working now.
✅ I am not working now. - ❌ He is no studying.
✅ He is not studying. - ❌ They not playing.

Important Rule (Exam Alert)
Present Continuous Negative-ல் do / does பயன்படுத்தக்கூடாது.
- ❌ She does not working.
- ✅ She is not working.
