Present Perfect Tense — Day 2

Structure & Helping Verbs (has / have Mastery)

๐ŸŽฏ Goal of Day 2

Today your focus is very clear:

  • Understand has and have deeply
  • Build sentences without confusion
  • Avoid the most common spoken mistakes

๐Ÿ‘‰ If Day 2 is strong, all next days become easy.

 Core Structure (Never Forget)

Subject + has / have + Past Participle (V³)

This structure never changes. Only the subject decides has or have.

How to Choose: has or have?

Subject Helping Verb
I have
You have
We have
They have
He has
She has
It has

๐Ÿ‘‰ Rule: Singular third person = has
๐Ÿ‘‰ All others = have

✍️ Understanding Past Participle (V³)

Present Perfect always needs the third form of the verb.

๐Ÿ”น Regular Verbs

  • work → worked → worked
  • finish → finished → finished

๐Ÿ”น Irregular Verbs

  • eat → ate → eaten
  • see → saw → seen
  • go → went → gone

 Correct Sentence Formation

  • I have completed the task.
  • She has joined the company.
  • They have learned this lesson.

Notice one thing:

There is NO “did” and NO past time.

 Common Spoken Mistakes (Very Important)

  • ❌ He have finished work
    ✅ He has finished work
  • ❌ I have went there
    ✅ I have gone there
  • ❌ She has did it
    ✅ She has done it

 Key Understanding (Competition Edge)

Present Perfect = Helping verb + verb power

If your helping verb is correct,
your sentence is already 70% correct.

 Practice (Do Not Rush)

  1. He (finish) the report
  2. We (decide) to start early
  3. She (buy) a new phone

(Do not check answers now — answers will come at the end of Day 3)

 Final Thought

Many learners fail in English not because of vocabulary,
but because of weak structure control.

Master has / have today,
and you will speak with confidence tomorrow.
