• was / were + not + verb + ing structure-ஐ தவறில்லாமல் பயன்படுத்துவீர்கள்

Subject + was / were + not + Verb + ing

👉 Negative sentence-ல் not கட்டாயம் 👉 Main verb எப்போதும் ing form-ல் தான் வர வேண்டும்

✍️ Negative Sentence – எப்போது பயன்படுத்த வேண்டும்?

கடந்த காலத்தில்:

• ஒரு செயல் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை என்று சொல்ல
• நடக்கவில்லை என்ற நிலையை விளக்க
• ஒரு குறிப்பிட்ட நேரத்தில் அந்த செயல் நடைபெறவில்லை என்பதை காட்ட

• I was not reading a book.
  👉 நான் புத்தகம் வாசித்து கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை
• She was not cooking food.
  👉 அவள் சமைத்து கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை
• He was not watching TV.
  👉 அவன் டிவி பார்த்துக் கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை
• They were not playing cricket.
  👉 அவர்கள் கிரிக்கெட் விளையாடி கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை
• We were not sleeping at that time.
  👉 அந்த நேரத்தில் நாங்கள் தூங்கிக் கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை

Time Words உடன் Negative Sentences

Past Continuous Negative sentences-க்கு வரும் நேர வார்த்தைகள்:

• at that time
• yesterday night
• while
• when
• last evening

Examples:

I was not working yesterday night.
She was not studying at that time.
They were not travelling last evening.
