Present Perfect Continuous Tense – Corrections

Day 1 – Basic Sentence Corrections (Kannada)


 Day 1 Focus

ಈ ದಿನದ ಗುರಿ:

  • Present Perfect Continuous Tense‌ನ ಮೂಲ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಗುರುತಿಸುವುದು
  • has / have + been + verb + ing pattern ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟಗೊಳಿಸುವುದು
  • Beginner-level confusion ನಿವಾರಿಸುವುದು

Correct Structure (ಮೂಲ ರಚನೆ)

Subject + has / have + been + verb + ing

👉 ಈ tense ಬಳಸುವುದು: ಭೂತಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಆರಂಭವಾದ ಕೆಲಸ ಈಗಲೂ ಮುಂದುವರಿಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ


❌ Common Mistake Type 1 – “been” ಮಿಸ್ ಆಗುವುದು

  • ❌ I have working here for two years.
    ✅ I have been working here for two years.
  • ❌ She has studying since morning.
    ✅ She has been studying since morning.
  • ❌ They have playing cricket for one hour.
    ✅ They have been playing cricket for one hour.

👉 Rule: Present Perfect Continuous ನಲ್ಲಿ been ಕಡ್ಡಾಯ


❌ Common Mistake Type 2 – Verb + ing ಬಳಸದೇ ಇರುವುದು

  • ❌ He has been wait for you since 9 AM.
    ✅ He has been waiting for you since 9 AM.
  • ❌ I have been read this book for two days.
    ✅ I have been reading this book for two days.
  • ❌ She has been cook food since evening.
    ✅ She has been cooking food since evening.

❌ Common Mistake Type 3 – has / have confusion

  • ❌ He have been working here for years.
    ✅ He has been working here for years.
  • ❌ She have been learning English.
    ✅ She has been learning English.
  • ❌ They has been waiting outside.
    ✅ They have been waiting outside.

👉 He / She / It → has been
👉 I / You / We / They → have been


❌ Common Mistake Type 4 – Since / For confusion

  • ❌ I have been working since two hours.
    ✅ I have been working for two hours.
  • ❌ She has been studying for morning.
    ✅ She has been studying since morning.
  • ❌ They have been living here since five years.
    ✅ They have been living here for five years.

👉 Since = point of time
👉 For = duration
