ICT Intraday Trading Strategy: Step-by-Step Execution Model
Learn how to apply Smart Money Concepts in intraday trading with proper structure and confirmation
This guide explains how to execute intraday trades using ICT concepts. The focus is on trend identification, liquidity, confirmation, and precise entry.
1. Identify Trend (Higher Timeframe)
- Use 1 Hour or 15 Minute chart
- Identify Higher High and Higher Low for bullish trend
- Identify Lower High and Lower Low for bearish trend
Higher timeframe decides direction. Always trade with the trend.
2. Mark Liquidity Zones
- Equal highs and equal lows
- Previous day high and low
- Support and resistance zones
Liquidity is where stop losses exist. Price moves to these levels before reversal.
3. Wait for Liquidity Sweep
- Price breaks above highs or below lows
- Triggers stop losses
- Quick reversal after sweep
No liquidity sweep means no high probability trade.
4. Market Structure Shift (MSS)
- Break of previous structure
- Confirms change in direction
MSS is confirmation. Never enter before structure break.
5. Entry Zone (Point of Interest)
- Order Block
- Fair Value Gap (FVG)
- Breaker Block
Entry should happen at institutional zones, not random levels.
6. Entry Confirmation
- Strong rejection candle
- RSI confirmation
- Trendline support or resistance
7. Stop Loss and Target
- Stop loss below or above liquidity
- Target at previous high or low
- Next liquidity zone as extended target
Complete Execution Model
- Trend identification
- Liquidity marking
- Liquidity sweep
- MSS confirmation
- Entry at POI
High probability trades come from confirmation and confluence, not prediction.
Trading Rules
- No trend clarity, no trade
- No liquidity sweep, no trade
- No structure confirmation, no trade
- Always manage risk
