Present Perfect Continuous Tense – Corrections

Day 5 – WH-Question Corrections (What / Why / How long / Where)

🎯 Day 5 యొక్క లక్ష్యం

ఈ రోజు మనం grammar కంటే question thinking clarity నేర్చుకుంటాం.

  • WH-question structure clear అవ్వాలి
  • has / have position automatic కావాలి
  • been + verb-ing miss కాకూడదు
  • for / since usage logically fit కావాలి

 Correct WH-Question Structure

WH-word + has / have + subject + been + verb-ing ?

👉 WH word మొదట
👉 has / have వెంటనే
👉 subject తర్వాత
👉 been + verb-ing compulsory

Common Mistake #1 – Wrong Word Order

  • ❌ Why you have been waiting so long?
✅ Why have you been waiting so long?
  • ❌ Where she has been working?
✅ Where has she been working?
  • ❌ How they have been managing?
✅ How have they been managing?

👉 WH questions లో కూడా helping verb rule same

Common Mistake #2 – BEEN Missing

  • ❌ How long have you working here?
✅ How long have you been working here?
  • ❌ Why has she preparing so hard?
✅ Why has she been preparing so hard?
  • ❌ What have they doing since morning?
✅ What have they been doing since morning?

👉 been లేకుండా Present Perfect Continuous **break అవుతుంది**

Common Mistake #3 – Wrong Tense Selection

  • ❌ What are you doing since morning?
✅ What have you been doing since morning?
  • ❌ Why is he working here for 10 years?
✅ Why has he been working here for 10 years?

👉 since / for కనిపిస్తే Present Continuous కాదు

Statement → WH-Question

  • Statement:
She has been studying English seriously.
  • WH-Question:
Why has she been studying English seriously?
  • Statement:
They have been waiting for two hours.
  • WH-Question:
How long have they been waiting?

 Practice – Correct the Questions

  1. How long you have been living here?
  2. Why she been working late?
  3. What they have been do since morning?
  4. Where has he working all these years?

(Answers + explanation Day 6 లో)

 Day 5 Final Insight

WH-questions లో confusion రావడానికి కారణం grammar కాదు — order awareness లేకపోవడం.

WH → has / have → subject → been → verb-ing ఈ pattern fix అయితే questions crystal clear అవుతాయి.
