Shaktimatha 369 English Learning Series – Episode 3 ಗೆ ಸ್ವಾಗತ!
ಇಂದು ಮಾತನಾಡುವಾಗ / ಬರೆಯುವಾಗ ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮಾಡುವ ತಪ್ಪುಗಳನ್ನು ಸರಿಪಡಿಸೋಣ.
1. “Very Much” ನ ತಪ್ಪು ಬಳಕೆ
❌ Wrong: I am liking it very much.
✔️ Correct: I like it very much.
Rule: like, love, want, need ಅನುಭವ/ಭಾವ ಸೂಚಿಸುವ verbs → ಇವು am/is/are + ing ರೂಪದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರಬಾರದು.
More examples:
❌ I am wanting a pen. → ✔️ I want a pen.
❌ She is loving chocolates. → ✔️ She loves chocolates.
2. Words ಕ್ರಮದ ತಪ್ಪು (Word Order Mistake)
❌ Wrong: He quickly speaks English.
✔️ Correct: He speaks English quickly.
Rule: Adverbs ಸಾಮಾನ್ಯವಾಗಿ verb ನಂತರ ಬರುತ್ತವೆ.
More examples:
❌ She beautifully sings. → ✔️ She sings beautifully.
❌ They correctly answered. → ✔️ They answered correctly.
3. “Used to” ನ ತಪ್ಪು ಬಳಕೆ
❌ Wrong: I am used to play cricket.
✔️ Correct: I am used to playing cricket.
Explanation:
Used to + verb = ಹಳೆ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸ
Am/is/are used to + noun/verb+ing = ಈಗ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಭ್ಯಾಸವಾಗಿದೆ
Examples:
✔️ I used to live in Delhi.
✔️ I am used to waking up early.
4. Negative Form ತಪ್ಪು
❌ Wrong: He no came.
✔️ Correct: He didn’t come.
Rule: didn't ನಂತರ BASE FORM ಬರಬೇಕು.
More examples:
❌ She didn’t went. → ✔️ She didn’t go.
❌ I didn’t saw. → ✔️ I didn’t see.
5. Article Errors (a / an)
Note: He is an honest man. (ಇದೊಂದು ಸರಿಯಾದ ವಾಕ್ಯ)
Rule: an vowel sound ಮೊದಲು ಬರುತ್ತದೆ.
Examples:
✔️ an hour (“our” ಧ್ವನಿ)
✔️ an MBA (“em-B-A”)
6. “Few” ಮತ್ತು “A Few” ನಡುವಿನ ವ್ಯತ್ಯಾಸ
❌ Wrong: I have few friends. (ಬಹಳ ಕಡಿಮೆ)
✔️ Correct: I have a few friends. (ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮಂದಿ ಇದ್ದಾರೆ)
7. Daily Life Corrections
✔️ I will call you later.
✔️ I can’t hear you properly.
✔️ Please keep quiet.
✔️ It is not my mistake.
✔️ Don’t waste my time.
✔️ I reached home safely.
✔️ He is on leave today.
