ഇന്ന് സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോൾ / എഴുതുമ്പോൾ സാധാരണയായി ഉണ്ടാകുന്ന തെറ്റുകൾ നന്നാക്കാം.
1. “Very Much” ന്റെ തെറ്റായ ഉപയോഗം
❌ Wrong: I am liking it very much.
✔️ Correct: I like it very much.
Rule: like, love, want, need പോലുള്ള verbs am/is/are + ing ഉപയോഗിക്കരുത്.
More examples:
❌ I am wanting a pen. → ✔️ I want a pen.
❌ She is loving chocolates. → ✔️ She loves chocolates.
2. Word Order Mistake (പദക്രമം തെറ്റ്)
❌ Wrong: He quickly speaks English.
✔️ Correct: He speaks English quickly.
Rule: Adverbs സാധാരണയായി verb ന് ശേഷം വരും.
More examples:
❌ She beautifully sings. → ✔️ She sings beautifully.
❌ They correctly answered. → ✔️ They answered correctly.
3. “Used to” ന്റെ തെറ്റായ ഉപയോഗം
❌ Wrong: I am used to play cricket.
✔️ Correct: I am used to playing cricket.
Explanation:
Used to + verb = പഴയ ശീലം
Am/is/are used to + verb+ing = ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ശീലം
Examples:
✔️ I used to live in Delhi.
✔️ I am used to waking up early.
4. Wrong Negative Form
❌ Wrong: He no came.
✔️ Correct: He didn’t come.
Rule: didn't ന് ശേഷം BASE FORM ഉപയോഗിക്കണം.
More examples:
❌ She didn’t went. → ✔️ She didn’t go.
❌ I didn’t saw. → ✔️ I didn’t see.
5. a / an Articles
Note: He is an honest man. (ഇത് ശരിയാണ്)
Rule: an vowel sound ന് മുമ്പ് മാത്രം.
Examples:
✔️ an hour (“our” sound)
✔️ an MBA (“em-B-A”)
6. “Few” & “A Few” വ്യത്യാസം
❌ Wrong: I have few friends. (ഒരുപാട് കുറവ്)
✔️ Correct: I have a few friends. (ചില സുഹൃത്തുകൾ ഉണ്ട്)
7. Daily Life – Common Corrections
✔️ I will call you later.
✔️ I can’t hear you properly.
✔️ Please keep quiet.
✔️ It is not my mistake.
✔️ Don’t waste my time.
✔️ I reached home safely.
✔️ He is on leave today.
