Welcome to Episode 3 of the Shaktimatha 369 English Learning Series!
Today we will correct more common mistakes that learners make in speaking and writing English.

1. Wrong Use of “Very Much”

❌ Wrong: I am liking it very much.
✔️ Correct: I like it very much.

Rule: verbs like like, love, hate, want, need never use “am/is/are + ing” for general feelings.

More examples:
❌ I am wanting a pen. → ✔️ I want a pen.
❌ She is loving chocolates. → ✔️ She loves chocolates.

2. Wrong Order of Words

❌ Wrong: He quickly speaks English.
✔️ Correct: He speaks English quickly.

Rule: Adverbs (quickly, slowly, clearly) usually come after the verb.

More examples:
❌ She beautifully sings. → ✔️ She sings beautifully.
❌ They correctly answered. → ✔️ They answered correctly.

3. Mistake with “Used to”

❌ Wrong: I am used to play cricket.
✔️ Correct: I am used to playing cricket.

Explanation:
Used to + verb = past habit (I used to play).
Am/is/are used to + noun/verb+ing = comfortable with something.

Examples:
✔️ I used to live in Delhi. (past habit)
✔️ I am used to waking up early. (comfortable now)

4. Incorrect Negative Form

❌ Wrong: He no came.
✔️ Correct: He didn’t come.

Rule: After didn't → always use base form (come, go, eat).

More examples:
❌ She didn’t went. → ✔️ She didn’t go.
❌ I didn’t saw. → ✔️ I didn’t see.

5. Wrong Article Usage (a / an)

❌ Wrong: He is an honest man.
✔️ Correct: He is an honest man. (this is correct)

Rule: Use an before vowel sound, not vowel letter.

More examples:
✔️ an hour (because “hour” sounds like “our”)
✔️ an MBA (because pronounced “em-B-A”)

6. Confusion Between “Few” and “A Few”

❌ Wrong: I have few friends. (negative meaning)
✔️ Correct: I have a few friends. (some friends)

Rule:
few = almost none
a few = some
