Daily English Sentence Corrections – Episode 4 (Malayalam)

ഇന്ന് നമ്മൾ സംസാരിക്കുമ്പോഴും എഴുതുമ്പോഴും സാധാരണയായി നടക്കുന്ന ചില ഇംഗ്ലീഷ് പിശകുകൾ കണ്ടെത്തി ശരിയാക്കാം. ഓരോ നിയമവും ഉദാഹരണങ്ങളും വളരെ വ്യക്തമായി നൽകിയിരിക്കുന്നു.
1. “Too” എന്ന പദത്തിന്റെ തെറ്റായ ഉപയോഗം
❌ Wrong: This coffee is very too hot.
✔️ Correct: This coffee is too hot.
Rule: Too എന്നത് സ്വതവേ “വളരെ / അതിയായ” എന്നർത്ഥം നൽകുന്നു. അതിന്റെ മുമ്പിൽ “very” ഉപയോഗിക്കരുത്.
Correct examples:
✔️ The bag is too heavy.
✔️ The movie was too boring.
✔️ This road is too narrow.
2. Very vs Much — ശരിയായ ഉപയോഗം
❌ Wrong: I am very tired very much.
✔️ Correct: I am very tired.
Rule:
Very → adjectives ജോടിയിൽ (tired, happy, sad)
Much → verbs / comparisons ജോടിയിൽ
Correct examples:
✔️ She talks too much.
✔️ I don’t like it very much.
✔️ He is much better now.
3. Since & For — ഉപയോഗത്തിലെ സാധാരണ പിശക്
❌ Wrong: I am waiting since two hours.
✔️ Correct: I have been waiting for two hours.
Rule:
Since → ആരംഭ സമയം (2010, morning)
For → ദൈർഘ്യം (2 hours, 3 days)
Correct examples:
✔️ She has lived here since 2015.
✔️ They have been friends for 10 years.
✔️ I have been studying for two hours.
4. Uncountable Nouns — plural ആകാത്തവ
❌ Wrong: These informations are useful.
✔️ Correct: This information is useful.
ഇവയെ plural ആക്കാൻ കഴിയില്ല:
Information • Advice • Furniture • Luggage • Equipment
Examples:
✔️ She gave me good advice.
✔️ The furniture is new.
✔️ This equipment is expensive.
5. Comparatives — സാധാരണ പിശക്
❌ Wrong: He is more taller than me.
✔️ Correct: He is taller than me.
Rule: “more” + “-er” ഒരുമിച്ച് ഉപയോഗിക്കാനാകില്ല.
Examples:
✔️ shorter (not more shorter)
✔️ faster (not more faster)
✔️ bigger (not more bigger)
6. Do / Make — തെറ്റിദ്ധാരണ
❌ Wrong: I need to do a decision.
✔️ Correct: I need to make a decision.
Rule:
Do → പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾ (actions)
Make → സൃഷ്ടിക്കുന്നത് / രൂപപ്പെടുത്തുന്നത്
Examples:
✔️ do homework
✔️ do the cleaning
✔️ make a plan
✔️ make a mistake
✔️ make breakfast
7. ചോദ്യം വാക്യങ്ങളിൽ പദക്രമ പിശക്
❌ Wrong: What you are doing?
✔️ Correct: What are you doing?
Rule:
Helping Verb + Subject + Verb
Examples:
✔️ Where are you going?
✔️ Why are you late?
✔️ When will you come?

🎧 /f/ vs /p/ ശബ്ദ വ്യത്യാസം
/f/ : മേൽ പല്ല് + താഴത്തെ ചുണ്ടിൽ നിന്ന് വരുന്ന മൃദു ശബ്ദം
/p/ : രണ്ടു ചുണ്ടുകളും ചേർത്ത് തുറക്കുമ്പോൾ വരുന്ന ശക്തമായ ശബ്ദം
