Daily English Sentence Corrections – Episode 4 (Tamil)
Shaktimatha 369 English Learning Series – Episode 4-க்கு வரவேற்கிறோம்!
இன்று நாம் தினசரி பேச்சில் பொதுவாக செய்யப்படும் சில தவறுகளை எளிதாக திருத்திக் கொள்ளப் போகிறோம். ஒவ்வொரு பிழைக்கும் தெளிவான விதியும் உதாரணங்களும் கொடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளன.
1. “Too” என்ற வார்த்தையின் தவறான பயன்பாடு
❌ Wrong: This coffee is very too hot.
✔️ Correct: This coffee is too hot.
விதி: “Too” என்றால் தானாகவே “அதிகமாக / மிக அதிகம்” என்று அர்த்தம். அதன் முன் “very” வைக்கக் கூடாது.
உதாரணங்கள்:
✔️ The bag is too heavy.
✔️ The movie was too boring.
✔️ This road is too narrow.
2. Very – Much எப்போது பயன்படுத்துவது?
❌ Wrong: I am very tired very much.
✔️ Correct: I am very tired.
விதி:
Very → adjectives உடன் (tired, sad, happy)
Much → verbs / comparisons உடன்
சரியான பயன்பாடு:
✔️ She talks too much.
✔️ I don’t like it very much.
✔️ He is much better now.
3. Since மற்றும் For – எது எப்போது?
❌ Wrong: I am waiting since two hours.
✔️ Correct: I have been waiting for two hours.
விதி:
Since → நேரம் தொடங்கிய இடம் (morning, 2010)
For → கால அளவு (two hours, five days)
உதாரணங்கள்:
✔️ She has lived here since 2015.
✔️ They have been friends for ten years.
✔️ I have been studying for two hours.
4. Uncountable nouns – plural ஆகாது
❌ Wrong: These informations are useful.
✔️ Correct: This information is useful.
இந்த வார்த்தைகள் plural ஆகாது:
Information • Advice • Furniture • Luggage • Equipment
உதாரணங்கள்:
✔️ She gave me good advice.
✔️ The furniture is expensive.
✔️ This equipment is new.
5. Comparative degree-ல் தவறு
❌ Wrong: She is more taller than me.
✔️ Correct: She is taller than me.
விதி: “-er” வரும் adjectives-க்கு முன்னே “more” பயன்படுத்தக் கூடாது.
சரியான வடிவம்:
✔️ shorter (not more shorter)
✔️ easier (not more easier)
✔️ bigger (not more bigger)
6. Do – Make குழப்பம்
❌ Wrong: I need to do a decision.
✔️ Correct: I need to make a decision.
விதி:
Do → வேலை, செயல்கள்
Make → உருவாக்குதல், தயாரித்தல்
உதாரணங்கள்:
✔️ do homework
✔️ do the cleaning
✔️ make a plan
✔️ make a mistake
✔️ make a phone call
7. கேள்வி வாக்கியங்களில் சொல்லின் வரிசை
❌ Wrong: What you are doing?
✔️ Correct: What are you doing?
விதி: கேள்வி அமைப்பு:
Helping verb + Subject + Verb
உதாரணங்கள்:
✔️ Where are you going?
✔️ Why are you late?
✔️ When will you come?
