In this lesson, we correct the most common daily-use mistakes with clear grammar rules. Each sentence includes English correction, Malayalam translation, and pronunciation.


1. I didn’t go to school yesterday.

Incorrect: I didn’t went to school yesterday.
Correct: I didn’t go to school yesterday.

✔ Explanation

After “didn’t”, always use base verb (go, eat, come). Never use “went / ate / came” after “didn’t”.

✔ Malayalam Meaning

ഞാൻ ഇന്നലെ സ്കൂളിൽ പോയില്ല.

Pronunciation: ñān innale skūlil pōyilla.


2. She has finished her homework.

Incorrect: She finished her homework now.
Correct: She has finished her homework.

✔ Explanation

Use present perfect (has/have + V3) for recently completed actions that have importance now.

✔ Malayalam Meaning

അവൾ ഹോംവർക്ക് പൂർത്തിയാക്കി.

Pronunciation: avaḷ hōmvark pūrthiyāki.


3. They are playing outside now.

Incorrect: They play outside now.
Correct: They are playing outside now.

Use “am/is/are + verb-ing” for actions happening right at this moment.

✔ Malayalam Meaning

അവർ ഇപ്പോൾ പുറത്തു കളിക്കുകയാണ്.

Pronunciation: avar ippōl purathu kaḷikkukayāṇ.


4. I have been studying for two hours.

Incorrect: I am studying for two hours.
Correct: I have been studying for two hours.

Use present perfect continuous (have/has been + verb-ing) for actions that started in the past and are still happening now.

✔ Malayalam Meaning

ഞാൻ രണ്ടു മണിക്കൂറായി പഠിച്ചുകൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു.

Pronunciation: ñān randu maṇikkūṟāyi paṭhichukkoṇḍirikkunnu.


5. He will meet you tomorrow.

Incorrect: He meet you tomorrow.
Correct: He will meet you tomorrow.

Use “will + base verb” for future actions, plans, and arrangements.

✔ Malayalam Meaning

അവൻ നാളെ നിന്നെ കാണും.

Pronunciation: avan nāle ninne kāṇum.


Additional Learning Notes (English + Malayalam)

1. Use of DIDN’T

Rule: After “didn’t”, always use base verb.

4. Use of WILL

Used for future action or plan.

Malayalam: ഭാവികാലത്തിലെ പ്രവർത്തനങ്ങൾക്കുള്ള ഉപയോഗം.
