Reminder – Present Perfect Continuous
Subject + has / have + been + verb + ing
👉 പ്രവർത്തി past-ൽ ആരംഭിച്ച് 👉 ഇപ്പോഴും തുടരുന്ന അല്ലെങ്കിൽ 👉 ഇപ്പോഴത്തെ ഫലമുണ്ടാക്കുന്ന പ്രവർത്തി

Same Situation – Different Tenses
- Simple Present: I teach English. → ഞാൻ സാധാരണയായി English പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നു
- Present Continuous: I am teaching English. → ഇപ്പോൾ English പഠിപ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു
- Present Perfect: I have taught English. → English പഠിപ്പിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് (ഫലം പ്രാധാന്യം)
- Present Perfect Continuous: I have been teaching English for 5 years. → 5 വർഷമായി English പഠിപ്പിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നു
Time Words – Special Role
Present Perfect Continuous-ൽ സാധാരണയായി:
- for → period of time ( for two hours, for five years )
- since → starting point ( since morning, since 2020 )
- I have been studying English for two years.
- She has been working here since 2021.
Common Confusions
- ❌ I have been knowing him for years.
✅ I have known him for years.
(Non-continuous verbs) - ❌ I am working here since 2020.
✅ I have been working here since 2020.
When NOT to use Present Perfect Continuous
- With stative verbs (know, like, believe)
- When action is fully completed and no duration matters
Example:
- ❌ I have been knowing the answer.
- ✅ I have known the answer.
