Simple Present Tense — Sentence Correction

Day 4: Question Sentence Errors (Do / Does)

❓ Why Day 4 Correction is Important

In Simple Present Tense, learners often make mistakes while asking questions.

This correction lesson helps you:

  • Use do / does correctly in questions
  • Understand the correct question structure
  • Speak confidently without hesitation

 Golden Rule (Must Remember)

Question Sentence =
Do / Does + Subject + Base Verb + ?

👉 In questions, the verb never takes s / es.

How to Choose Do / Does

  • Do → I / You / We / They
  • Does → He / She / It

❌ Wrong → ✅ Correct (Observe Carefully)

  • ❌ Does he works here?
    Does he work here?
  • ❌ Do she like coffee?
    Does she like coffee?
  • ❌ He does go to office?
    Does he go to office?
  • ❌ Do he know English?
    Does he know English?

 Why These Mistakes Happen

Most learners:

  • Add s / es to the verb in questions
  • Forget to change do / does when the subject changes
  • Use statement word order while asking questions

👉 Remember: The helping verb always comes first in a question.

 Common Spoken Mistakes

  • ❌ She does like tea?
    Does she like tea?
  • ❌ He do work here?
    Does he work here?
  • ❌ Do he plays cricket?
    Does he play cricket?

 Practice Section (Correct These)

  1. Do she understand English?
  2. Does he works daily?
  3. He does come here?

(Think before checking the answers — accuracy builds fluency)

 Gentle Reminder

When you ask questions correctly, your English sounds natural and confident.

One correct question can start a meaningful conversation.
