 Objective of Day 6

Today you will learn how to ask WH-questions using Past Continuous Tense to get detailed information about actions that were happening in the past.

  • Learn correct WH-question structure
  • Understand word order clearly
  • Use WH-words naturally

Basic WH-Question Structure

WH-word + was / were + subject + verb + ing ?

๐Ÿ‘‰ WH-word comes first ๐Ÿ‘‰ Then was / were ๐Ÿ‘‰ Then subject ๐Ÿ‘‰ Main verb must end with -ing


 Common WH-Words Used

  • What – for action
  • Where – for place
  • When – for time

Statement vs WH-Question

Statement WH-Question
She was cooking dinner. What was she cooking?
They were playing in the park. Where were they playing?

Common Mistakes (Avoid These)

    ✅ What was she doing?
  • ❌ Where were he going?
    ✅ Where was he going?
  • ❌ Why they were shouting?
    ✅ Why were they shouting?
  • ❌ What was she cook?
    ✅ What was she cooking?
